These tales of Age of Empires are set in a fantastical world; characters belong to their respective colors and civilizations, all jumbled together in a timeline that makes no historical sense but feels perfectly normal to the characters. Characters behave or act like their unit type found within the game, but can make exceptions for the sake of the story. I’ve tried to portray what AoE2 would feel like to a person living in the game, but I also don’t mind exploring the world a bit more and deviating from the game for the sake of entertainment.
